24/7 Care for Dental Emergencies in Kanata?

A toothache at midnight. A cracked tooth right before a big event. Dental emergencies rarely pick a good time to happen, and they tend to get worse the longer you wait. So if something feels urgent, don’t wait. Getting to an emergency dentist quickly can save you a lot of trouble later.

In pain and not sure what to do? Our emergency dentist team in Kanata will take a look, walk you through your treatment options, and get you the care you need to feel better and get your oral health back on track.

Common Dental Emergencies We Treat at Our Clinic

We offer various treatments for many types of dental emergencies in Kanata. Here are the most common cases we see.

General Dentistry Ottawa

Knocked–Out Teeth

A knocked-out tooth requires quick attention. The sooner you receive care, the better the chances of preserving the tooth. Handle it by the crown rather than the root and contact our Kanata emergency dentist as soon as possible.

Broken or Chipped Teeth

A chip might look minor, but the crack underneath it often is not. Even without much pain, get it checked soon. Left alone, it tends to spread or let bacteria in. Our team examines the extent of the damage and repairs it with bonding, a crown, or whatever approach protects the tooth best.

Severe Toothaches

Toothaches that stick around usually point to something underneath, a cavity, an infection, or a cracked tooth. We’ll track down the actual cause instead of just treating the pain.

Lost Fillings

Once a filling comes out, the exposed part of the tooth is fair game for sensitivity and decay and our dentist will take a look at what’s left and figure out the right fix.

Lost Crowns

A loose or missing crown leaves the tooth underneath exposed to damage it was never meant to handle on its own. Give our Kanata team a call so we can get it protected again.

Abscessed Teeth

An abscess is an infection, not something that clears up on its own. Pain, swelling, sensitivity, or a bad taste in your mouth are all signs worth calling us about right away. Our dentist drains the infection and treats the source, often with a root canal, to stop it from spreading further.

Soft Tissue Injuries

Cuts to the lips, cheeks, tongue, or gums bleed more than you’d expect for how minor they sometimes are. If the bleeding doesn’t stop or the injury looks serious, get it looked at right away.

What to Do Before You Reach Our Kanata Emergency Dental Office

While you’re on your way, a few steps can make a real difference. For a knocked–out tooth, keep it moist in milk or between your cheek and gum. For a cracked tooth, rinse gently with warm water and avoid chewing on that side. For swelling from an infection, a cold pack on the outside of the cheek helps manage discomfort without worsening the situation.
Whatever the emergency, call our clinic in Kanata first. We’ll give you specific guidance for your situation over the phone while you get ready to come in.

Marissa, our hygienist, is amazing. We came in and she's not even front desk, she had a big smile on her face. Very warm, entertaining, made the appointment such a pleasure. Team is so lucky to have her. We love Trillium because of her.
We had been going to Trillium Dental on Kakulu Rd. for about a year and a half and, overall, had been happy with our experience. Dr. O’Connor saw my daughter twice, and Marisa is a wonderful hygienist.
However, our most recent experience was very concerning, and I want to share it so that others are aware and can make informed decisions. Our regular dentist at this clinic was on maternity leave, so last fall my 15-year-old daughter went for her routine cleaning and exam with another doctor at this clinic. Dr. Harsimrat Birgi saw her. At that time, we were told that everything looked fine and no treatment was needed — just regular monitoring.
Six months later, on May 25,2026 we returned for another routine cleaning. Since our regular dentist was still away, my daughter was again seen by Dr. Harsimrat Birgi.
Mainly based on the X-rays, the doctor started listing tooth after tooth that supposedly needed treatment. After only a very brief look in my daughter’s mouth, we were presented with a treatment plan for 12 teeth with an estimate of over $3,500. We were told the treatment should be started as soon as possible and encouraged to book appointments.
We were extremely surprised that such extensive treatment would suddenly be needed after only six months, especially since the same doctor had examined her just six month earlier and told us that everything looked fine and only needed monitoring. Because of this, we decided to get a second opinion from another dentist at a different clinic.
The second dentist recommended treatment for only 2 teeth. Regarding a third tooth, we were told the issue was very minor and could simply be monitored for now. All other teeth, according to the second opinion, did not require treatment.
I’m sharing our experience to encourage people to be very careful and always seek a second opinion when faced with extensive dental treatment plans and significant costs. If you are seeing this doctor Dr.Harsimrat Birgi, I strongly recommend getting another opinion before proceeding with major dental work.

There’s excellent service, and then there’s above and beyond treatment. I can’t express how much gratitude I have for the amazing people at this location especially.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve been to a dentist and the nerves I had were quickly calmed and handled with such gentle reassurance .

I’d HIGHLY recommend anyone to this clinic. In a heartbeat.
