Why Choose Trillium Dental for Implants in Stittsville

Deciding to replace a missing tooth is a big step for your oral health. What determines how well it goes, though, is largely the experience behind the team placing and restoring your implant.

Detailed pre-treatment planning, precise surgical technique, and long-term follow-up care come together at Trillum Dental. Patients throughout Stittsville and the surrounding west-end Ottawa areas choose us because we take the time to explain each stage, set realistic expectations, and build every treatment plan around the individual.

What Are Dental Implants and How Do They Work?

Missing a tooth root? A titanium post steps in to replace it, surgically placed into the jawbone by an implant dentist. Given time to fully integrate with the bone around it, that post then supports a crown, bridge, or denture on top. This eventually restores both how your smile functions and how it looks.

Components of a Dental Implant

Three pieces come together to form a complete implant restoration. The abutment is what makes the connection work. The abutment sits above the gumline and connects the implant post to whatever comes next: a crown, a bridge, or a denture. To keep things looking natural, the crown, bridge, or denture on top is both shaped and color-matched to blend with your existing teeth.

How Implants Replace Missing Teeth

What happens beneath the gumline matters most. After the post goes in, the jawbone doesn’t stay still. It grows around the titanium over the next few months until the two fuse together. Dentists call this osseointegration.

It takes a few months, but the payoff is a bond strong enough to handle everyday chewing – no shifting, no slipping.

Benefits of Choosing Dental Implants

Your jawbone relied on stimulation from your natural tooth roots for years. Once those are gone, dental implants step in to fill that role, delivering the same stimulation that keeps the bone from breaking down. They function independently without requiring alteration of the teeth on either side, unlike a traditional bridge. They also stand as the only tooth replacement option that actively prevents bone loss in the jaw over time.

The Process For Smile In A Day

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants in Stittsville?

Most adults in good general health with adequate jawbone volume are suitable candidates for a dental implant. Eligibility comes down to a few things: bone density, gum health, and any underlying medical conditions. That’s why every treatment recommendation starts with a full assessment first.

Lost bone volume after an extraction doesn’t automatically rule someone out, either. A bone grafting procedure can often restore enough structure to make treatment possible. Our implant dentist in Stittsville gives you a clear and honest answer about your options after reviewing your full situation.

The Dental Implant Procedure at Our Clinic

Our dental implant process in Kanata is designed to guide you from your initial consultation through your final restoration.

General Dentistry Ottawa

Step 1: Initial Consultation and Assessment

Before anything else, we take a close look at your dental and medical history, capture detailed images of your jaw, and check both bone volume and gum health. From there, we’re able to plan the exact implant placement and catch any prep work your case might call for.

Step 2: Implant Placement Surgery

Our implant dentist places the titanium post into the jawbone, with local anesthesia used throughout the procedure. Patients are often surprised by how manageable the experience turns out to be. Before you head home, we walk you through aftercare, and we check in with you again in the days that follow.

Step 3: Healing and Osseointegration

It takes a few months for the bone to properly bond with the implant. This is osseointegration, and it’s the foundation the rest of the process depends on. We’ll see you for scheduled checkups at our Stittsville clinic so we can watch this progress firsthand. For most patients, though, this phase blends right into everyday life with barely any disruption.

Step 4: Abutment Placement and Crown Attachment

Once you’ve healed, we move to the final piece: the abutment goes in, then your crown gets fitted on top of it. Nothing generic here. Shape, size, and color are all built to match your existing teeth, so it doesn’t stand out.

Step 5: Follow-Up Care and Maintenance

Not much is required to keep your implant in good shape. Brushing, flossing, and routine professional cleanings at our Stittsville implant clinic go a long way toward keeping the surrounding gum tissue healthy and protecting your investment for years to come.

Dental Implants vs Dentures vs Bridges – Which Is Right for You in Stittsville?

Benefits, costs, and long-term results vary widely among replacement options. Implants offer the most natural, stable result and stand alone in preserving jawbone over time. Bridges skip surgery but call for reshaping healthy neighboring teeth to anchor the restoration.

Dentures are the cheaper option upfront, but they call for ongoing maintenance and don’t prevent the bone loss that sets in after a tooth is gone. At our dental clinic, we sit down with you and go through each option, taking into account your tooth-loss pattern, bone health, and what you’re hoping to achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about dental implant treatment? Here are a few things patients often want to know before moving forward.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last in Stittsville?

With the right care, implants are built to hold up for years. In many cases, decades. The restoration itself might need to be swapped out eventually from normal wear, but the implant underneath is built to last.

How Much Do All-on-4 Dental Implants Cost in Stittsville?

A few things determine the final cost. Your oral health, the treatment plan you need, and the restoration you pick. Once we’ve met for your consultation, you’ll have a full cost breakdown in hand.

Are Dental Implants Covered by OHIP in Stittsville?

OHIP coverage doesn’t extend to dental implants. If you have private insurance, though, it may pick up part of the tab. Our Stittsville team can help sort out exactly what your plan offers.

What Dental Issues Can Dental Implants Fix in Stittsville?

Implants can take on any of it. A single tooth, several, or a full arch. They’re also frequently used to anchor implant-retained dentures for patients wanting more stability than removable options give.

I had a great appointment with my hygienist Katie. She is gentle, caring, and always makes me feel comfortable and relaxed.
The staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door, and are always able to answer any questions I may have.

I have been with Trillium Dental – Jackson Trails since 2018/2019, and until today I had generally trusted them with my family’s dental care. although, I live far away from them.

Today, however, I received a call from a receptionist whose tone I found unnecessarily aggressive and rude. She repeatedly interrupted me while I was trying to speak, all over an $8 payment issue related to insurance processing.

Instead of resolving the matter directly with the insurance provider, I was simply asked to pay the amount myself, and my concerns were not handled professionally when I questioned that approach.

As a parent who had all of my children registered with this office, the experience was very disappointing. After today’s interaction, I have decided to move my family to another dental office that demonstrates stronger professionalism, better customer service, and a clearer understanding of insurance and financial processes.

Just had my appointment last night. The hygienist, dentist, and receptionists were all punctual and very nice! They were perfectly able to accommodate my schedule. The hygienist Katie is so wonderful, both her and the dentist (I can't remember her name, sorry!) made me feel very comfortable. They were also honest with me and didn't sugar coat what I needed to do better for my teeth, which I really appreciate! I've been coming to the Jackson Trails location for years, and I will continue to do so.

Thank you to the lovely ladies who helped me out with a bizarre situation.

I have been a patron for years but beyond impressed with the kindness and determination they had.

I highly recommend!!
Many people are wary of going to the dentist as I am. But Trillium Jackson Trails does an exceptional job to alleviate your angst. I recently had dental surgery and it went so much better than I anticipated. Dr. Baghrecha and her assistant explained everything thoroughly pre and post surgery. As well as during surgery. They were kind and empathetic. Post surgery Alison on the front desk was wonderful. Taking my phone calls and answering my many questions and told me not to hesitate to call back (which I did).
Thank you one and all!!!
