Why Choose Trillium Dental for Implants in Kanata

A missing tooth rarely stays a cosmetic issue for long. It can change how you chew, how you talk, and how you feel about your own smile. At Trillium Dental, our experienced dentists build personalized treatment plans for each patient, offering dental implants and Smile-In-A-Day options for those who qualify in Kanata.

Modern imaging shapes the planning at our Kanata clinic, giving us a clear read on what will actually work for your mouth. Expect straight answers at every step, from your first scan through your final restoration.

What Are Dental Implants and How Do They Work?

Picture a small titanium post set into the jawbone, standing in for the root of a tooth that is no longer there. Once it heals into place, a custom crown goes on top, built to match the way a natural tooth looks and bites. Implants hold up well over time precisely because that post gives the whole structure something solid to rest on.

Here’s how this service works:

Components of a Dental Implant

Three pieces typically make up the finished restoration of a dental implant: the post itself, the abutment that connects it, and the crown on top. Put together, they stand in for the tooth that used to be there.

How Implants Replace Missing Teeth

The post first engages the jawbone, where it slowly fuses with the surrounding bone during healing. Once that has happened, the abutment and crown get attached to finish the job.

Benefits of Choosing Dental Implants

A solid foundation is really the whole point. Chewing gets easier, the jawbone stays supported instead of shrinking, and most patients find their confidence returns once the gap is gone.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants in Kanata?

Many adults with a missing tooth are good candidates, though the best way to know is through a proper consultation. Bone density, gum health, and what you are hoping to achieve all play into that answer.

A visit with our Kanata implant dentist covers a full evaluation. Sometimes additional treatment needs to happen before implant placement makes sense, and if that is the case, we will walk through exactly what that looks like and why.

The Dental Implant Procedure at Our Clinic

From the first conversation to the finished restoration, here’s how our treatment works:

General Dentistry Ottawa

Step 1: Initial Consultation and Assessment

Every treatment starts with a consultation. We’ll examine your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine whether a dental implant is the right option for your smile.

Step 2: Implant Placement Surgery

After assessment, surgery follows, and the post will be placed into your jawbone where the tooth root was previously located. Healing starts right away. We will also send you home with clear, step-by-step instructions for the days ahead.

Step 3: Healing and Osseointegration

This is the quiet part of treatment. As your mouth heals, the implant gradually integrates with the surrounding bone, building the solid base that the rest of the restoration will rest on.

Step 4: Abutment Placement and Crown Attachment

Once you are healed, your custom-made restoration will be attached to match your surrounding teeth and smile.

Step 5: Follow–Up Care and Maintenance

Caring for your restoration is similar to caring for your natural teeth. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups can help support your oral health and the long–term success of your treatment.

Dental Implants vs Dentures vs Bridges – Which Is Right for You in Kanata?

Each option solves the missing tooth problem a little differently. Dentures come out, bridges and implants do not. Bridges typically need the neighboring teeth reshaped to anchor them, while an implant stands on its own without touching adjacent teeth.

Dental implant treatment is a stable option to replace the tooth root for a missing tooth that will support the jawbone. During your consultation, our Kanata implant dentist will go over your options and help you decide on the best treatment for you.

Dental Implant Consultation in Kanata | FAQ’s

Considering dental implants in Kanata? These are the questions patients bring up most often before booking.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last in Kanata?

Implants are meant to last, sometimes for decades with proper care. Proper oral hygiene along with routine checkups is really the key to how long yours will last.

How Much Do All–on–4 Dental Implants Cost in Kanata?

There is no set price for All-on-4, as it depends entirely on your case. Bone health, how many implants, and the overall treatment plan all factor into the final cost. Your consultation is where those numbers would be clarified.

Are Dental Implants Covered by OHIP in Kanata?

Usually not. This treatment is not usually covered by OHIP, but some parts are covered by private insurance plans. It’s worth investigating your particular plan, and our team is happy to help you to figure that out.

What Dental Issues Can Dental Implants Fix in Kanata?

One missing tooth or several, implants can handle both, and they are sometimes used to anchor bridges or dentures, too. The goal either way is getting back both function and appearance.

Marissa, our hygienist, is amazing. We came in and she's not even front desk, she had a big smile on her face. Very warm, entertaining, made the appointment such a pleasure. Team is so lucky to have her. We love Trillium because of her.
We had been going to Trillium Dental on Kakulu Rd. for about a year and a half and, overall, had been happy with our experience. Dr. O’Connor saw my daughter twice, and Marisa is a wonderful hygienist.
However, our most recent experience was very concerning, and I want to share it so that others are aware and can make informed decisions. Our regular dentist at this clinic was on maternity leave, so last fall my 15-year-old daughter went for her routine cleaning and exam with another doctor at this clinic. Dr. Harsimrat Birgi saw her. At that time, we were told that everything looked fine and no treatment was needed — just regular monitoring.
Six months later, on May 25,2026 we returned for another routine cleaning. Since our regular dentist was still away, my daughter was again seen by Dr. Harsimrat Birgi.
Mainly based on the X-rays, the doctor started listing tooth after tooth that supposedly needed treatment. After only a very brief look in my daughter’s mouth, we were presented with a treatment plan for 12 teeth with an estimate of over $3,500. We were told the treatment should be started as soon as possible and encouraged to book appointments.
We were extremely surprised that such extensive treatment would suddenly be needed after only six months, especially since the same doctor had examined her just six month earlier and told us that everything looked fine and only needed monitoring. Because of this, we decided to get a second opinion from another dentist at a different clinic.
The second dentist recommended treatment for only 2 teeth. Regarding a third tooth, we were told the issue was very minor and could simply be monitored for now. All other teeth, according to the second opinion, did not require treatment.
I’m sharing our experience to encourage people to be very careful and always seek a second opinion when faced with extensive dental treatment plans and significant costs. If you are seeing this doctor Dr.Harsimrat Birgi, I strongly recommend getting another opinion before proceeding with major dental work.

There’s excellent service, and then there’s above and beyond treatment. I can’t express how much gratitude I have for the amazing people at this location especially.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve been to a dentist and the nerves I had were quickly calmed and handled with such gentle reassurance .

I’d HIGHLY recommend anyone to this clinic. In a heartbeat.
